Willimantic is a village in the town of Windham in Windham County, Connecticut. The population was at 17,737 at the 2010 census, and it is home to Eastern Connecticut State University and the Windham Textile and History Museum. The Willimantic Boom Box Parade has received national and international attention for its annual Boom Box Parade, and other events such as the 3rd Thursday Street Fests that offer musical, theatrical, visual, and olfactory delights; the only footbridge in the U.S. to connect two state highways; Prospect Hill Historic District, one of the largest National Register-listed historic districts in the state; Victorian Days, featuring Victorian home tours, Victorian teas, trolley tours, art shows, museums, concerts, and special events; and much more.
