Wilma P. Mankiller Health Center is named for the first female Chief of the Cherokee Nation, Wilma Mankiller. The health center was designed to be the baseline from which all services were measured in the Cherokee Nation Health Centers. The health center moved into their new primary care area in October 2015 bringing the total size of the center to 66,000 square feet from 38,000 square feet. This center was one of 4 locations to receive upgrades and additions as part of a $100 million dollar investment by Cherokee Nation.

Stilwell, OK is located in the heart of Adair County. The town of about 4,000 is the county seat for Adair County and was declared the “Strawberry Capital of the World” by the Oklahoma Governor and legislature in 1949. The town is named after Arthur Stilwell who was also the founder of the Kansas City Southern Railroad. Stilwell hosts their annual Strawberry Festival the second Saturday of May
