Established more than 100 years ago, UP Health System – Bell serves the residents of Ishpeming, Negaunee and seven other townships. It provides a broad range of inpatient, outpatient and post-acute care through its 25-bed critical access facility and physician practices.

The Community

With small communities and big ideas, Michigan's Upper Peninsula is the perfect place for people to explore their many and varied interests. Visit the art galleries, fine arts centers, and museums. Walk along the beaches of Lake Superior. Hike, bike, and explore the many trails. Wrap yourself in a blanket of bright stars, clean air, and open water.

Ishpeming is a community that brings together small-town values, rich history and culture, and a four-season wonderland for outdoor enthusiasts-without the long commute times or congested highways. Ishpeming and Western Marquette County is home to Northern Michigan University – and the community benefits from the diversity, culture and high standards of living contributed to our small community. Ishpeming is considered the U.S. birthplace of organized skiing and winter sports – Noquemanon Cross Country Ski Marathon, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, and ski jumping are community members' favorites.
