About Us: Chesapeake Urology Associates, P.A., a division of United Urology, is the premier urology practice in the Mid-Atlantic, offering the most state-of-the-art urology care available nationwide. In 2022 Chesapeake Urology is excited to partner with brand-new  University of Maryland Capital Regional Medical Center located in Largo, MD.  The new Chesapeake Urology Office and Ambulatory Surgery Center will be located on the campus of this new state-of-the-art hospital.  Chesapeake Urology is looking for a General Urologist and a Fellowship trained FPRMS specialist to work along-side our Fellowship trained Reconstruction Specialist Dr. Michael Witthaus and our Fellowship trained Uro/Onc Specialist Dr. Daoud Dajani in our brand-new facility which will be completed in Q1 of 2024.  This brand-new location will allow our specialist to deliver superior urologic care to the Capital Region.  The Chesapeake Urologist at Capital Regional MC will join a team of 85 of the top Urologist in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Position: General Urologist /Fellowship Trained FPRMS

We are seeking a General Urologist for our Brandywine, MD office located in Prince Georges County.  Located within an easy drive to the Chesapeake Bay and Washington DC, Prince Georges County offers you the chance to experience outdoor adventures, life by the water, great seafood, city life, culture and history. 

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

Clinical

  • Evaluates patients upon admission, reviewing personal medical history, and performing an appropriate physical exam.
  • Interprets and evaluates patient data for the purpose of determining management and treatment of patients. Consult with referring physician as appropriate.
  • Adjusts patient care plan by reviewing and monitoring treatments and therapy plans.
  • Administers or orders laboratory, radiological and diagnostic tests that will assist with the medical management; explain the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipates effects of treatments, and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
  • Prescribes, recommends, and regulates appropriate pharmacologic medicine. 
  • Functions as a surgeon in the operating room, including pre and post-operative intervention, when necessary.
  • Documents appropriately as required, including, but not limited to:  evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, billing documentation, treatment notes, and other reports as requested. 
     
    POSITION REQUIREMENTS
     
    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical School.  Doctor of Medicine degree with focus in Urology.
  • Certification required as a Physician granted by the American Board of Medical Specialists and American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
  • Licensure as a Physician in the state of Maryland.
  • Valid DEA drug license and Maryland controlled substance license required. 
  • Fellowship and Residency training is preferred. 
  • Current ACLS, BLS and CPR certification required.
     
    KNOWLEDGE/COMPETENCIES & SKILLS:
  • Current knowledge of acceptable and appropriate clinical practice, quality assurance, and patient management and care.
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective member of a health care team.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer software and database skills
  • Strong attention to detail
