This community contains an abundant colonial and aviation history. Located along the beautiful East Connecticut coast, Stratford was established in 1639. It is home to five islands which are great locations for scenic beaches, golf courses, fishing, and boating. In addition, The National Helicopter Museum contains photographic history of the helicopter and other model helicopters, as well as the Air and Space Museum which are fun for the whole family.
