Staten Island in Brief

“The forgotten borough” is home to nearly half a million people. Its claim to fame is the Staten Island Ferry, both a tourist attraction and a way for commuters to get to Manhattan. The north shore is quite urbanized, while the south shore is less developed, providing the best of both worlds on one 13-mile long island.
