Known as the Scenic City, Chattanooga lies along the banks of the Tennessee River. The city has received national recognition for the renaissance of its beautiful downtown and redevelopment of its riverfront that is home to an aquarium, a museum for children, a carousel, theaters, walking paths, a pedestrian bridge and a score of other sites and activities that have revitalized a previously dying downtown.
