Vallejo is just 45 to 60 minutes northeast of San Francisco and only about 30 minutes from the Napa Valley. Live and play in the famed Napa Valley wine country. A strong economy and affordable housing has meant new prosperity for Vallejo as new businesses and residents come to the city. Some are attracted by the beautifully restored Victorian homes and store fronts; others are attracted by the newer homes in the Northgate and Hiddenbrooke developments. Waterfront and Mare Island redevelopment have become a community effort, with input from residents helping to shape the future of what could become the most important economic generator of the city.
