London is the county seat of Laurel County, Kentucky, and is the second-largest city named London in the U.S. and the fourth-largest in the world. The 2010 U.S. census gave the population as 7,993. Located in a transition area between a humid subtropical climate and a humid continental climate, summers are hot and humid with frequent storms.
