St. Charles Mercy Hospital

Since 1953, St. Charles Mercy Hospital has provided for the healthcare needs of Toledo’s eastern communities. A 390-bed community hospital, St. Charles is a member of the Mercy Health Partners System, a seven hospital faith-based system serving Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. St. Charles is the preferred hospital for Toledo’s eastern communities, serving residents of Oregon, East Toledo and Lucas, Wood and Ottawa counties. It provides a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient care. In 2007, it recorded 10,942 patient admissions, 700 births and 44,927 emergency department visits. St. Charles Mercy Hospital has approximately 1,400 full-time and part-time employees and 561 physicians on its Medical Staff. With a modern facility, St. Charles takes a leadership role in providing quality care and community development.

Level III Emergency Center provides care for the full range of emergency conditions, including cardiac emergencies

Family-centered obstetrics with Level II Neonatal Services, the second highest designation for treating high-risk mothers and babies, and attractive private birthing suites where patients labor, deliver, recover and receive post partum care all in one room

Surgery Center, including inpatient and outpatient services and a Short Stay Unit

Center for Pain Management provides comprehensive medical treatment programs for acute and chronic pain, also offers services to manage cancer pain

Mercy Occupational Health Services offers employers and employees a complete range of services including injury care, physicals, drug screenings, rehab and work place intervention tools

Mercy Women’s Care at St. Charles provides comprehensive diagnostic services, including digital mammography, bone densitometry, stereotactic breast biopsy and breast ultrasound; offers cosmetic laser procedures; sclerotherapy for varicose veins; MD Forte, a line of prescription strength skincare products; educational resource library with books, videos and access to the Internet

Acute Rehabilitation Unit that provides comprehensive, interdisciplinary rehabilitation services to adults who need multiple therapies to achieve their full potential for recovery, not only physically, but also socially, emotionally and vocationally.
