Stoughton is a thriving community of over 10,000 residents. The city is located 18 miles southeast of Madison, the state capitol. Stoughton is located on the picturesque Yahara River which gently flows through the center of the city. This vibrant community is nestled in the heart of southern Wisconsin convenient to Madison, Milwaukee and Chicago.

Stoughton is a friendly place to live, work and visit. The city abounds with history which is preserved in its beautiful old homes, downtown buildings and the focal point of the community—The City Hall Clock Tower. Stoughton has twelve city parks filled with swings, tennis courts, baseball and softball diamonds, swimming facilities and green space. “Lake of many fishes” in the Winnebago language, is still one of southern Wisconsin’s most productive fishing lakes. This 3,209-acre lake is large enough for boating, fishing, waterskiing and sailing.

There are approximately 17 churches with a variety of denominations. The Stoughton area school district consists of three elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school and two parochial schools.

Stoughton Hospital is a 69-bed acute care hospital, fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, licensed by the state of Wisconsin, and a member of the Wisconsin Hospital Association and Rural Wisconsin Hospital Cooperative. The hospital has an ER that is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as well as a 4 bed ICU, Urgent Care and 24 hour lab.

The medical staff includes board certified physicians in emergency medicine, family practice, internal medicine, general surgery, cardiology, pulmonology, psychiatry, gynecology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, pathology, radiology, otolaryngology, plastic surgery, and urology.
