Primary Health Care

Founded in 1981 by Dr. Bery Engebretsen, Primary Health Care, Inc. is a non-profit, federally qualified, healthcare service provider in Central Iowa, including Des Moines, Ames, and Marshalltown. Our mission is to provide healthcare and supportive services to all, regardless of insurance, immigration status, or ability to pay. PHC offers a spectrum of medical and ental services including medical, dental, behavioral health, HIV care and services, and pharmacy. PHC employs approximately 75 physicians, dentists, pharmacists, advanced practice clinicians, dental hygienists, and licensed social workers.
