In October 1987, First Panamericano Hospital was founded in the beautiful mountains of Cidra, Puerto Rico, to be a psychiatric hospital with the mission of raising the quality of psychiatric services available up to that time on the Island.

Thinking about the needs and well-being of the patients, in October 1990, Panamericano opened its first partial hospitalization program, known as the Panamericano Access and Treatment Center in the Hato Rey area. We have evolved into the most complete mental health system in Puerto Rico, with integrated and varied services for adolescents, adults and the elderly; with seven (7) Outpatient Centers conveniently located throughout the Island and two additional hospital units: Panamericano Ponce and Panamericano San Juan.
