The Hospital

Located in the heart of Henderson, Maria Parham Medical Center, is a 113-bed, acute care facility that provides medical services to the people of Vance County and surrounding areas. A healthcare leader in the community, the hospital offers a host of services including: acute care, cardiopulmonary, emergency, intensive care, nephrology, oncology, progressive care, radiology and digital imaging, rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep center, surgical services, women and infant services, and the Pain and Physical Medicine Clinic.

Maria Parham is fully accredited by The Joint Commission and is a designated Chest Pain Center through the Society for Cardiovascular Patient Care, the accrediting arm of the American College of Cardiology. Maria Parham’s Cancer Center is also fully accredited by the Commission on Cancer.  We are proud to offer patients access to state-of-the-art technology including: advanced imaging systems with two CT scanners, a wide-bore MRI, nuclear medicine, a women’s diagnostic center and interventional radiology services including diagnostic cardiac catheterization and diagnostic angiography.

Recreation

Henderson is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream. From hiking, biking and bird watching to shopping, camping, golfing and dining, Henderson and its surrounding area offers a variety of recreational choices for residents and visitors of all ages.

Among the most popular of the region’s destinations is Kerr Lake, one of the largest lakes in the Southeast, with more than 850 miles of shoreline stretching across Vance County and the North Carolina/Virginia state line. Incredibly beautiful, Kerr Lake offers everything from wooded shores and secluded coves to tranquil picnic areas and easy access to water sports like boating, fishing, skiing, sailing and wind surfing. Camping options are plentiful with access to more than 1,000 camp sites and options ranging from standard nonelectric sites up to group sites with full electricity and water.

Access to two local golf courses and multiple surrounding courses provides any golf enthusiast multiple choices to practice their game. There is even a mini-golf for the younger golfers in the area. Henderson is also home to one of the only 10 drive in cinemas left in the entire state and hosts multiple family activities throughout the year.
