Hedrick Medical Center (HMC) in Chillicothe, MO, has delivered high-quality health care to Livingston County and the surrounding communities since its inception in 1972. A city-owned, not-for-profit critical access hospital, HMC is a Joint Commission-accredited hospital in north-central Missouri. HMC moved into a state-of-the art building in 2014, demonstrating the city of Chillicothe and the health system’s dedication to our rural community. The 25-bed acute care hospital offers comprehensive care, including a 24-hour emergency department staffed by board certified physicians, inpatient and outpatient diagnostic testing, a Women's Center featuring 3-D mammography, inpatient and outpatient surgery & rehabilitation services, ICU & PCU level care with eICU monitored beds, a specialty clinic that offers infusion and sleep lab services, and primary care offices adjoining the facility. Recently awarded Level III stroke center status for care of acute strokes, HMC continues to be a system leader in providing quality care. In 2019, the hospital was awarded the prestigious Guardian of Excellence Award by Press Ganey for reaching the 95th percentile for clinical quality.


About Chillicothe, MO
Chillicothe lies in the heart of a rich agricultural section of the state 90 miles northeast of Kansas City and is the largest community in north central Missouri. Known as the Home of Sliced Bread, Chillicothe’s population is currently around 9,000 with Livingston County having a total population of close to 15,000.
