Memphis, home of the Blues and the birthplace of Rock 'n' Roll, still values southern hospitality. It is famous for Elvis Presley's home, Graceland; the eminent Peabody Hotel; and Mud Island, the final resting place of the legendary World War II B-17 bomber, the Memphis Belle. There are museums galore, including the National Civil Rights Museum, which is the only one of its kind in the world. World-famous Memphis barbeque is highlighted each year at the May Festival, where people from around the world compete in the international barbeque cooking contest.
