Within the 63-acre campus, CMC-NorthEast offers Pediatric Sub-Specialists, Neuroscience, Home Care, Emergency Care Center/Level III Trauma Center, Outpatient Diagnostic Services, Rehabilitation Services, a College of Health Sciences and a Family Medicine Residency Program. Carolinas Medical Center - NorthEast has one of the largest physician networks in the area with an active physician staff of over 475. HealthGrades, a leading independent healthcare ratings company, recently named CMC-NorthEast as North Carolina's number one hospital for Overall Cardiac Care, Cardiology and Coronary Interventional Procedures. With the opening of the Jeff Gordon Children's Hospital in December of 2006, CMC-NorthEast now offers a unique, 27,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility for children that has 33 beds (including five in a specialized Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) and 15 neonatal Intensive Care beds. The Pediatric Pavilion offers specialty care in 11 sub-specialties.
