The city of Glendale is a thriving community located at the base of the Verdugo Mountains just north of downtown Los Angeles. It is the third largest city in Los Angeles County, covering more than 30 square miles. Its wide, shaded streets and transportation system make getting around convenient and easy. Glendale has the dual benefit of a family-oriented community and the city's international reputation. The urban diversity found in the city presents a number of residential opportunities from which to choose. Public, parochial and independent schools are of the highest quality. The vast majority of campuses in the Glendale Unified School District have been honored for academic excellence by the State of California and/or the U.S. Office of Education. The temperate Southern California climate and close access to beaches, mountains and a wide range of activities make Glendale an ideal community to live and work in.
