Mercy Philadelphia Hospital (MPH), has been caring for the communities in West and Southwest Philadelphia for 95 years.  Founded by the Sisters of Mercy, its  mission is characterized by a dedication to the poor and  disadvantaged and by providing compassionate care to  all patients.  In 2013, Mercy Philadelphia Hospital had  9,037 admissions; 47,291 visits in the Emergency  Department; and 73,414 outpatient registrations (as of 1/7/14).   The hospital has 178 licensed beds.

Clinical excellence and patient safety are top priorities at Mercy Philadelphia Hospital. The hospital earned the 2013 Patient Safety Award from the Philadelphia Business Journal for an innovative antimicrobial stewardship program.  It was also a top three finalist for the Healthcare Company of the Year Award for implementing a successful patient medication management initiative.  Other quality recognitions include the designation of a Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission and a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology, as well as accolades including Gold Seal of Accreditation in mammography, stereotactic biopsy and breast ultrasound; Get with the Guidelines Gold Plus Achievement for Stroke Care, Get with the Guidelines Silver Achievement for Heart Failure and a Mercy Health System Performance Excellence Award for improving process flow and patient satisfaction across Endoscopy Services.

Comprehensive services at Mercy Philadelphia Hospital include emergency, surgical, cardiac, critical care, oncology, wound care and hyperbarics, gastroenterology, mental wellness, physical and occupational rehabilitation, vascular, and interventional and diagnostic radiology.  The Mercy Cancer Care program is accredited by The American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, and is affiliated with the Jefferson Cancer Network.  In addition, affiliations with Penn Medicine Heart and Vascular Network and Jefferson Neuroscience bring world-class cardiovascular and neurosurgical services, respectively, to the communities served by the hospital.

Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital (MFH), located in Darby, 
Pennsylvania is a 204-bed acute care community teaching 
hospital that has been serving a large number of 
economically fragile neighborhoods in Delaware County 
and Southwest Philadelphia for 80 years.  In 2013, the 
hospital admitted 9,189 patients, cared for 40,462 people 
in the Emergency Department and saw 141,539 outpatient 
registrations*.
