ABOUT THE FACILITY

Gottlieb Memorial Hospital (GMH) is a 255-bed, not-for-profit, community hospital founded in 1961.  After 50 years, Gottlieb has grown from one small building to a sprawling, 36-acre, university-affiliated, medical center in Melrose Park, located approximately 15 minutes west of downtown Chicago.  GMH became a part of Loyola University Health System in July 2008.

Our campus at Melrose Park features an Emergency Department and Level II Trauma Center with heliport, Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center, Sleep Lab and Diagnostic Center, Birth Center with private labor/delivery/recovery rooms, Mammography, Professional Office Building, Adult Day Center and Rehabilitation Services (Physical, Occupational and Speech therapies), Cardiac Rehab Phase II and Pulmonary Rehab, Marjorie G. Weinberg Cancer Care Center, and Home Health Center and Hospice.

The 255-bed hospital employs about 1,200 individuals, and has more than 300 physicians and dentists on staff, plus an additional 200 volunteers.
