The Wisconsin Office of Rural Health (WORH) was established in 1975, within the University of Wisconsin Medical School, to address shortages of health services in rural areas. As the WORH evolved, it developed a strong health professional recruitment program and worked with many programs at the federal and state levels to bring health care services to underserved areas.

Our long-standing Physician Placement Program has helped place more than 390 physicians in nearly 125 Wisconsin communities since its inception in 1979. Those services continue with placement for primary care and specialty physicians, mid-level providers and allied health care professionals. We continue assisting Wisconsin hospitals and clinics staff critical positions and assisting you with personalized service to find a place you'll love to practice.
