Prairie Lakes Healthcare System is an independent, not-for-profit, regional healthcare system serving over 90,000 people in northeastern South Dakota and west central Minnesota.  Prairie Lakes Healthcare System is licensed to operate 81-bed acute care hospital beds including labor and delivery, telemetry, critical care, and general hospital.  Hospital services also include a 24-hour emergency department, surgery capabilities, interventional cardiology, and services providing diagnostics and imaging services. 

Prairie Lakes also operates Prairie Lakes Cancer Center, Prairie Lakes Mallard Pointe Surgical Center, dialysis units, rehabilitation services, and specialty services.  Specialty services are a focus of PLHS to bring needed care to the region.  These specialties include cardiology, dermatology, ENT, general surgery, hospice, home care, nephrology, pulmonology, urology, and wound care.  All supported by a local medical staff of over 60 doctors practicing various specialties including anesthesiology, family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, radiology, and orthopedics. 

Watertown, South Dakota is a thriving family friendly beautiful lake community located in northeastern South Dakota with a population of about 25,000. Enjoy all year recreation with two lakes, 33 distinguished park and recreation areas, three golf courses, miles of fitness trails through town and around the lake, art studios, wineries and breweries. We are a hunting and fishing paradise.  We boost an excellent K-12 school system with public and private schools, along with technical and branch college campuses available.
