Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) is a not-for-profit community health system dedicated to improving the health and quality of life of the people of Northeast Georgia. Through the services of a medical staff of more than 500 physicians, the residents of Northeast Georgia enjoy access to the state's finest and most comprehensive medical services.

The Health System offers a full range of healthcare services through its Joint Commission accredited hospital in Gainesville, Northeast Georgia Medical Center, which was named one of the country's 100 Top Hospitals for 2009 by Thomson Reuters. Northeast Georgia Medical Center's expert level of care has been recognized on a national and statewide level including:
 

  • Number on in Georgia and top 5% in the nation for Cardiac Care
  • Top 6% in the nation in 2007 for Cancer Care
  • A CARF - accredited inpatient rehabilitation unit that was one of the first in the nation to receive stroke specialty care certification
  • An American Society of Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence, which was the first hospital in Georgia to offer gastric bypass surgery using the da Vinci robotic surgical system.
