Monument Health Rapid City Hospital, Monument Health’s largest facility, is a 417-bed tax-exempt regional tertiary care center with a medical staff of almost 300 providers. Services include a cancer care institute, a level two trauma center, in- and out-patient dialysis, cardiology, medical and radiation oncology, neurology and the state’s busiest emergency department. Monument Health Rapid City Hospital recently added da Vinci® robotic surgery and a new Hybrid Cardiovascular Lab allowing both open and closed interventions to be done in the same suite. The hospital’s diagnostic services include two MRIs, two CT scanners, a mammography center and two new digital cath labs. 

RAPID CITY, a city of 70,000 people, serves a collective area population of more than 475,000 residents within a 200-mile radius. Located along Interstate 90 in western South Dakota on the eastern slopes of the famous Black Hills, Rapid City is 25 miles from Mt. Rushmore and less than a one-hour drive from four National Parks. Rapid City is located near year around recreational opportunities, like rock climbing, fly-fishing, downhill skiing and mountain biking. Rapid City also has a modern regional airport with direct service to Chicago, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Phoenix/Mesa, Salt Lake City and Atlanta.
