About Bethany Medical Center

Founded in 1987, Bethany Medical Center was established by Dr. Lenny Peters after completing medical training in India, London, Pittsburgh, and at Wake Forest University. Dr. Peters chose High Point, North Carolina as the place to build a practice centered on compassionate, patient-focused care.

Bethany Medical Center began as a partnership between Dr. Peters and Dr. Hampton Chiles, a respected physician and long-standing advocate for the High Point community. Over time, the organization has grown into the largest independent multi-specialty medical group in Central North Carolina.

Today, Bethany Medical Center operates 16 practices across 13 outpatient locations in Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, Kernersville, Jamestown, North Wilkesboro, and Mount Airy. The organization is supported by more than 60 providers and over 525 employees, delivering coordinated, high-quality care to a diverse patient population throughout the Piedmont Triad.

Bethany Medical Center offers comprehensive multi-specialty outpatient care, including primary care, urgent care, diagnostic testing, ancillary services, and specialty care—all designed to provide convenient, patient-centered treatment in one integrated system.

The name Bethany reflects the idea of people from different backgrounds coming together with a shared purpose. In that spirit, Bethany Medical Center is built on collaboration, respect, and a commitment to caring for patients, families, and communities with dignity and compassion.
